Chicago Recap

I had a lovely time with my sister-in-law in the windy city! Our trip was incredibly short (less than 24 hours in Chi-town!) but we tried to pack in as much as we could. We spent the majority of our time on Navy Pier taking pictures, taking in the scenery, and of course enjoying an enormous amount of nachos from Margaritaville. I hope to go back soon for a longer amount of time. There is so much to see in the big city that we were unable to do in such a short time period. Obviously I took enough pictures to last a lifetime, so I thought I'd share a few with you.

We packed a such a reasonably small amount for our weekend trip. ;-)
Abi is sporting my favorite necklace! It seriously spruces up any outfit.
My favorite part of Chicago is the ferris wheel. Touristy? Yes. But the beautiful views are worth it.
We met up with some friends in Millennium Park.
It was my first time seeing "The Bean" in Chicago. It is such a cool piece of art!
I've always enjoyed watching street performers. This one gave us a good laugh.
It was such a beautiful city!
Cheesy pictures are my specialty.
We went to a wedding on Sunday. It was SO beautiful.
So thankful for this girl.
We stopped at Ikea on the way home! We had never been... SO cool!

I work at an amazing, laid back company. We have the awesome ability to wear whatever we want. We don't have regular hours, but instead have a system where we work whenever we want as long as the work gets done. I absolutely love the flexibility! My job is incredibly challenging, but the easy-going atmosphere makes it all worth it. I will be the first to admit my outfit today isn't exactly runway-worthy. It's half way through the week, and I'm tired! This outfit was picked for comfort. I added a sock bun to add a little cuteness to the ensemble. Side note: I really need to start saving for a fancy camera. I promise you won't have to deal with mirror shots for too much longer! ;-)

Vacation Time! :)

One more work day until my sister-in-law and I leave on our road trip adventure! I will be sure to post all the details and fun pictures when we get back. Quick introduction to this amazing girl: Abi has been my friend since childhood. We actually met when I was 2 or 3! She became one of my best friends in high school, and we were able to make our dreams of becoming sisters come true by our evil well devised plan of me marrying her big brother. :) We've had so many adventures together, and I cannot wait until our next one this weekend!

Abi is in the brown and I'm next to her in the blue vest!

This brings me to my great packing adventure... My XLarge Vera duffel is packed full. In true Anna-fashion I packed a million bows. When traveling, I try to pack things in zip-lock bags. It's a great place to store shoes so they don't get your suitcase dirty! I also love to put my lace dresses and skirts in the bags to keep them from getting snagged in the process of traveling. Make sure to stuff your undergarments and socks in one too! It is one of the best ways I've found to keep myself organized.

I'll try to blog as soon as I return. Very excited to make new memories this weekend!
xoxo

Free Clothes?

Nothing in life is free... that is, unless you shop at Sears Apparel Outlets on Tuesdays! :) Every Tuesday through the end of the summer you can pick one apparel item for completely free. Holy cow! :) I was able to score an adorable Lands End seersucker skirt that normally retails for $60! Today I picked up a red and white boatneck Chapwicks striped shirt. You will have to do some searching to get the great finds, but it's totally worth it.

My Monogrammed Life

I was absolutely thrilled when my sister-in-law came to visit with a giant wrapped present for me! :) I don't get gifts very often (outside of holidays) so this was extremely surprising! I unwrapped this gorgeous (not to mention HUGE) tote bag with my monogram! :)

I am in LOVE with this bag. It seriously will hold everything for road trips, picnics, traveling, or organizing my car. Want one of your own? She got it from this amazing company called Thirty-One Gifts. They offer a TON of monogrammed items for really decent prices. The quality is fantastic!

I was also able to see my adorable nephews. This picture of my oldest nephew cracks me up!

Other exciting news: We were able to welcome our new nephew into the world this past weekend! Oh my soul! :)  Cannot wait to meet that little sweetie!

Locks of Love

Braids and bows= two of my favorite things. A simple french braid is such a fantastic basic hair style that looks great on many face types. What is your favorite way to wear your hair?
